It is with great sadness that I announce the loss of Brother Lucas Pearson. Lucas passed away unexpectedly on the morning of November 20th. Luke was our brother, our friend, and a Pi Kapp who touched the lives of all of us. In this is a very difficult time I ask all of you to stay strong and remember the good times we have had with Lucas and the legacy of friendship he leaves behind.
As members of the Pi Kappa Phi, we need to hold strong as a brotherhood and work through these difficult times together. It is important to remember that we are not alone; we have the support our University, the National Fraternity, and our Alumni. I request, out of respect to Brother Pearson, that all members of Theta Iota (members and associates) be back in Pullman and dressed to pin before 6:30pm on Sunday November 29th. That night at promptly 7:00pm we have invited select Washington State University officials to come speak to us. Milton Lang, Vice President of Student Equity and Affairs, will honor us and Lucas with a few words.
In memory or Lucas, the brothers of the Theta Iota Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi have established a scholarship fund to honor his lasting impact on our chapter. Donations can be made by sending checks to our chapter house written to the Lucas Pearson Scholarship Fund or by directly depositing money at a local Bank of America branch.
If you or any friends have question regarding the loss of Brother Pearson please feel free to contact me at (253) 224-6817; or please contact WSU Counseling Services at 509-335-4511. Please respect the Pearson family’s request for privacy as I will update all of you with any new information that I receive as soon as possible. Remember men stay strong, rely on your brothers and honor our brother Lucas Pearson.
